I hold BSc and MSc degrees in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. I am registered as a Chartered Forensic Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS), a Registered Forensic Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPC), and an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP).
I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Lifespan Integration to clients who wish to access private treatment. Over the last ten years I have successfully treated clients who presented with the following problems: obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, anxiety, social phobia, trauma from physical and or sexual abuse, complex trauma, and dissociation.
I have over ten years experience in providing risk assessments in Civil and Criminal cases for the High Courts, Social Work Departments, and the Parole Board for Scotland. I am a Chartered Forensic Psychologist and Accredited Risk Assessor for the Risk Management Authority. I have expertise in risk assessment and management of violent and sexually violent offenders.
I am a committee member of various professional bodies and hold the position of Honorary Lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University, I lecture on Cognitive Behavioural Interventions for Offenders to students on the Forensic (Legal and Criminological) Psychology Masters course. I am also a Guest Lecturer at The University of Abertay Dundee, I lecture on the Introduction to Psychopathology and Crime to second year undergraduate students. I regularly attend training events and courses to update my knowledge and to continue my professional development as required to maintain my status as a chartered psychologist and accredited psychotherapist.
I am a recognised psychotherapist and psychologist with the following insurance companies: Axa, BUPA, Cigna, Medisure, Western Provident Association, Norwich Union, and Standard Life.
